Honduras is a State of Law that has ratified international agreements and approved laws that contemplate the human rights of people with disabilities, it is very important to apply the principle:
"NOBODY CAN CLAIM IGNORANCE OF THE LAW" , knowing our rights allows us to fully enjoy a life without discrimination.
Laws are the guide that societies must follow towards a path of order, respect, community, governance, human development, equality, equity and inclusion.
Disability is nothing more than the interaction of a person's deficiency with the barriers that society, be they physical, communicational and attitudinal, impose on us for the development and full enjoyment of our rights.
FENAPAPEDISH, condenses in a timeline the documents that contain regulations aimed at improving the quality of life of people with disabilities and we see how it has evolved from the social approach, however, many of these laws due to lack of budget, levels of indifference, prejudices and beliefs of the traditional model, have not been implemented and are not fulfilled by the majority of government and private entities.
We share very important documentation so that you know the legislation that is handled around the Disability issue in Honduras, as well as in other regions of the world.
